This guy just sseems to keep getting worse and worse. Swimming funny, missing lots of scales, appetite almost gone..... Anyone make anything of this?

Water parameters are where they usually reside, been running drip for days now as there's a female ray in this system thats been healing up - so water should be plenty clean. Did add a small amount of salt for that ray, other then that have used no meds.

What do you guys think?

Is this an older fish or a new addition? Possibly someone picking on him? (I know odd for a dorado).

Looks like something clamped down on the dorado.

The only changes in the 750 where he is have been the addition of a Royal Knife and a Jardini. The Jar and Dorado did go back and forth a little after this addition but that was months ago, haven't really fought since, but the Dorado is not healing.

IF I had to guess I think he bashed himself stupid. Swims almost like his tail is really heavy. Not sure how to describe it other then labored swimming. Anyone who's seen a Dorado knows they have no trouble swimming, they flick their tail and shoot across the tank this guy is different now. It's like the beginning of the fish not being able to balance - almost like an early stage of the Characin Stuppor..... :(

I look at the Latteral Line and think there's something going on there..... I've heard talk of people suspecting Hex being the cause for latteral line erosion. Could this be what I'm looking at?

Not sure if it's just he pics but he looks very thin. Has he been eating?

Very minimal eating. Last big meal was actually a Red Tailed Cuda that killed itself smacking the lids - prolly been 6-7 weeks.

Don't look like hexemita. Should have some open scales or wounds. How's the poop looking? What are you feeding it?

Could always try like a temporary intex pool for a qt tank and keep an eye out. Watch the feeding and progress.

Did he stop eating when you added the jar or unrelated? I doubt it's any sort of parasite.

If this is one of the dorados you've had for years, it makes me wonder how long they live in captivity?? He has the appearance of an older fish.
