Found this in a report a company is soliciting my company to buy. Keep in mind this only reflects people who responded to the survey. I'm sure there are tons more of households that have dogs, cats, and fish that did not respond to the survey.
According to the 2007-2008 National Pet Owners Survey, the number of
pet-owning households in the U.S., by type of pet, is as follows:
Dogs: 44.8 million
Cats: 38.4 million
Freshwater fish: 14.0 million
Birds: 6.4 million
Small animals: 6.0 million
Reptiles: 4.8 million
Equine: 4.3 million
Saltwater fish: 0.8 million
So what are you thoughts on this?
