Hi guys,

I'm new on the site :) but I was wondering if anyone knows where i could find a website or a store that sells freshwater jellyfish, they'd definetly be an awesome addition to my tank.

errrm i dont think there is such a thing as "freshwater jellyfish" plus even if there was youd need a perfectly circular tank with NO bubbles what so ever but you would still need a pump that cleans and oxygenates with out bubbles

wolf, freshwater jellyfish arnt actually true jellyfish, they're only relatives, but they do exist, sncboom, can you send me a picture?

they live for like 4 weeks and are dormiate<if ur lucky enough that they bred> for as long as 7 years, and if ur fortunate enough to have the 24,000 dollar 50gallon specialized tank to have them it seems to me that 4 weeks out of 7 years is kinda boring....
juts find a lake and catch them. im in pa and there is some by me.

i've never seen it personal..look intresting, but i'd prefer others.how's the tank condition??is't comm tank??look not that type.:headbang2

You don't need all that expensive equipment to keep jellies. See Chad Widmer's book "How to Keep Jellyfish in an Aquarium"
My company, Jellyfish Art breeds saltwater jellyfish and makes specialized aquariums for them. I would be happy to help anyone interested in building their own jellyfish setup. Also, if someone can point me to spot where I might be able to find freshwater jellies, I would be ecstatic. I'm in northern california...

Freshwater jelly fish are different and not quite like real jellies. Also, they are hard to keep. So I dont know if you can actually buy them, you have to catch them.

somehow some fw jellies from the zoo got into a local pond and i did reasearch on them before i went to get some and the grow to the size of a quarter and eat small fish...well....i kinda forgot to turn the power filter onto low so none made it:(

huhhhh....fw jellyfish from zoo? Since when zoo dumped their own animals into the pond? And i dont think the fw jellyfish eat fish. Mostly likely the fw jellyfish are native to that local pond.

I always laugh at "I did reasearch on them before", gar man, thats good one
