IN YOUR HEAD
i just got one tonight...anyone kept these before?...i read that they don't need brackish water as they live in both... true?....pics will be after it settles in...

do you know what species it is? with the exception of the Amazonian toadfishes, most would probably do best in at least brackish

the lfs just had it as lionfish...they get alot from s.a. so it might be the amisonian...if not i may just turn a tank to brakish and add some archers or somthing along those lines...i will try and get some pics up...maybe they will help the id...

I HAD A FEW AND BRAKISH IS THE WAY TO GO AND SOME HIDING PLACES WOULD MAKE THEM FEEL RIGHT AT HOME.

Is it ugly? Mine is. It is in freshwater with a salt regimine.1tbs/5g. They are very voracious and I feed mine live nightcrawlers twice its length!! When they get irritated or threatened, apart from the sting, they make a very loud and persistant noise.Weird. It sounds like rubbing a clean finger on glass...thats the best I can discribe it. Weird.
Anyway, they are cool fish and they WILL sting you if the have to as well as your fish.
If this is in fact the same fish.

Bada$$ for sure! Looking forward to pics! :D

i love the salt water lion fish :P
