i know this is late but my friend had to get rid of his tank and gave me a lobster. i know nothing about it. but it is with my south am. cichlids and seems to be ok had him for 4 days.

Yeah, we need a picture. If I were you I would take it away from the Cichlids ASAP. They will eat him eventaully.
or you could just write him off as live food/ vacation feeder
when my girlfriend has to hop out of town for a few days we just drop a whole lot of ghost shrimp and snails into her puffers tank and it eats when hungry
so you could care for it and put it in its own tank or you can admit what you have is an expencive meal
or
give it places to hide while it molts make sure you have enough iodine and other water params and let the guy play cat and mouse for the rest of his life
