Ive been raising mangroves out of a tank for a few months. Their frowning great roots but not much leave growth. There are in freshwater and do a great job of keeping my ph low and nitrates almost 0.

My question is... Do mangroves secrete enzymes or sugars, like bamboo, that increases algae growth our any other

I have never heard of anything like that, but as roots grow they do shed the growth tips.

Yeah, I do not really know if they do or do not release sugars into the water, but even if they do it can't be that much because people use mangroves in the salt water tanks regularly and we had some in on our store fixtures and we didn't have any issues.
