I bought a fresh water moray eel and he's not ate anything for 4 days (soon as i put him he spat out a flying fox which must has been fed to him in the store) He is just over a foot i'd say. What tank size, decor, food etc would be recomended? He is kept with 2 poly rope, 2 bichirs and 2 ornate bichirs.

Thanks Guys!!

1) Do a search on this site as this is one of the most inquired about species.

2) Get it into brackish water before it starves to death.

3) Try shrimp on a skewer. If that doesn't work try some live ghost shrimp.

No such thing as a "freshwater" moray eel.

they are labeled fresh water moray eels.....but they are really just brackish moray eels and will soon need salt.they should be put in brackish water as soon as possible.try some research before you buy more fish like this.what is your tank size? if im correct i beleive they need 75 gallons.they reach around 2 or 3 feet.they enjoy blood worms and a basic carnivorous diet.they are delicat for most fish keepers, but keeping them is simple for some.i beleive that some people on this site has them. They like most eels need many hiding places and should have some plants in there(yes there are brackish plants)I would love to house one sooner in my experience.I hope this helped a little......good luck with your eel.

I love the eel in your avatar! What is it? How big does it get? I hope to keep a blue ribbon eel someday...
