Stupid Town, Nm.
Yeah LFS owner is a brown-eye. Now at the time I thought I was buying a South American freshwater Eel. I asked his associate if it was South American (I really only want South American aquatic types in my tank), he wasn't sure so he asked the owner and his owner said "Yes, thats why he is in the tank South American tank". Cool then. I even ask him some general knowledge about the eel before I left. Which he told me its a carnivore, and told me some foods to feed it.

Well, I did some research to find more information about him. I finally break down and call the store to find out its name, Snowflake Eel, and that leads me somewhere. Well, I find out that its from Indonesia area and its mainly a Saltwater/ Brackish fish. Thats not what he is advertising.

I think he looks pretty cool and he is very docile with all my fish. My wife loves him, but doesn't like the owner of the LFS. Im going to give him back the Eel. I dont have a tank set up for salt or brackish water. Seeing as this fish needs that, I dont want to end up making this fish suffer in freshwater.

Also, my LFS owner is a hater...

same thing with me. bought one, found out, only i built a brackish tank to house him. he died tho, jumped out of the tank

Jumped out of the tank... amazing.

Yeah, I would do the whole brackish thing, but I dont wanna mess up my Cichlids, and lobster.

Yeah, I wish I could be on some Kat Williams mess and make him hate harder.

He just mad because I bought my 150 gallon tank from Petsmart and paid less than half of what he would charge for his 150 gallon. Im not gonna pay over $2,000 for a 150 gallon, when I can get one for less than $800.

Which freshwater eel is it? Is it Gymnothorax tile? Whenever I hear of a snow flake eel i think Echidna nebulosa which is a salt water species.... Good Luck and find a better lfs!!!

While on vacation in Tahiti we saw freshwater blue eyed eels. The were living in a shallow stream and were semi domestic. The locals worship them and feed them regularly. The eels were about 5 to 6 feet long and quite beautiful.
