Hey, I'm trying to get some answers to a few questions. First, I heard that freshwater stingrays are illegal to own in the state of Florida? Is this true and if so are there any that aren't illegal in FL? Which ones are the smallest when full grown of the Ray family? Where is a good place to buy one from? Finally, can one be kept in a 100gal. fresh water tank with non-aggresive fish that are larger in size like loach, spotted gar, a black ghost knife, and maybe a few other variety?

the atlantic ray might be able to be kept on florida.... you will need a tank with a 8'x3' foot print for the smaller species of rays and considering they are illegal it will be hard for you to obtain one...

You should read all the stickys in the ray forum and then buy Freshwater Stingrays by Dr. Richard Ross before attempting to buy any ray.
