I saw this in one of the biggest LFS here in my place, and I can see that it looks healthy it is like 3inch in size....could this be a different type of snapper?

Lutjanus argentimaculatus?

They can and they are fierce carnivores, grow to about afoot in length, the bigger they grow the more you can see their teeth, very nasty fish,I miss mine. The stores in my area falsely call them Redfin Datnoides but they are better known as Mangrove Jack.I have always seen them come in small and sell for 10 to 20 USD.
