Does anybody have pics. of a DIY freshwater fuge?
I was thinking of trying one on my new tank to combat the better than average phosphate levels in my tap water. RO is out of the question because i don't want to buy it or have the space for a system.

How's it working?

I'm looking to reduce phosphates not nitrates, but basically the plants should do double duty anyways correct?

that's pretty sweet, FEF

Thanks ^^ I built it because that tank is not under my care and I hoping that it will help keep the water quality up even if the care taker (brother) slacks on maintenance. It didnt take long and it is also cool to look at.

Unfortunately I cant tell what effects it is having because I am 300 miles away from the tank for quite some time, but I would assume the effects can only be good.

Yes they should and even if your aim is not to necessarily to reduce nitrates I wouldnt consider it bad side effect either. :naughty:

One step closer to nature is one step in the right direction! IMO

im fixing to get an intank refugium for my wife 55 to keep a b.modesta and java moss in
