the other day was watching river monsters on animal planet and it was about piranhas, but it included about 5 mins of river dolphins. this was the first time i had seen these. wanted to know if any other members know of any aquariums where these are kept. i know they get large but that still does not stop people also from having arapaimas.

couple pics i found on the insternet

ROFL i dont think any aquarium will sell these!

i didnt mean by purchasing, i meant if any members know any aquariums as in large aquariums (exhibits) where these are kept other than the wild

I hope Rich can find one! :D

I don't recall ever seeing any captive ones, but I saw several wild ones while I was in eastern Ecuador earlier this month. I didn't get any good pics like those though. I might have a couple of dorsal fins

i kno some of u would hate me for sayin this...but they're no where near as pretty as the ocean ones...to say the least. but they're koo nonetheless.

they certainly don't resemble FLIPPER!!! i just returned from OKLAHOMA AQUARIUM and i visited the GEORGIA AQUARIUM in atlanta last year. neither venue housed these ... i've only seen them on DISCOVERY, ANIMAL PLANET and the like . . .

There's an aquarium in Germany that has one. I think it's Duisburg.
