Anyone with freshwater fish that look like saltwater so as to be more cost efficient.
EX.
Pleco=Sharks
Bosmani rainbowfish=Blue hiptus tang

I’m not sure either substitutions you made really work. There are almost no behavioral or appearance (especially in the case of the rainbowfish and tang) related traits that match between the two.
To me, a substitution has to both look and act like the other fish in question. Even better is when it’s a direct relative.
Any freshwater puffer = any marine puffer
Spiny eels (or even better is freshwater moray) = moray eel
Large cats (paroon, Colombian, etc.) = sharks
Severum cichlid = kole tang
Most dwarf cichlids = damsels + clowns (if you have Joe both you would see that these act just the same)
Freshwater gobies and blennies = marine gobies and blennies
Red zebra cichlid = anthias
Noevespicula depressifrons = Lionfish/scorpionfish

I really kind of just remembered a book/website that i saw.

How about,
Galaxy otocilclus(the most rightly colored)=neon gobies
Tiger barbs(A bit more aggressive)= Clownfish(any variety)

I’ve always thought oto look like ramoras (the ones that clean sharks), but I can see the resemblance to neon gobies too.
Tiger barbs are closer to chromis imo, they both are a schooling fish that readily kill each other in aquariums.
