so i was at the store in the seafood section and i thought hey.... lets try to get that ray on some market shrimp and the packs werent marked... am i jut boned? or is there a way to tell?

sry marked fresh or salt water

most likly its salt water shrimp, thats what i feed mine at the moment.... its not horrible for them, if you feed other foods as well

I can't find freshwater shrimp anywhere near where I live so all my rays get saltwater shrimp. I would probably guess most ray keepers feed saltwater shrimp due to availability.

i heard salt water based foods were bad for the fresh water rays so i just passed for the day... shes only eating bloodworms and ghost shrimp atm anyway

I too feed saltwater shrimp (most are farmed raised in SE Asia). Can't find freshwater shrimp, or prawns, in my area. Where would one find these prawns?

Feeding market shrimp would be a cheap alternative, as I do feed my rays cooked shrimp. But as far as a nutrition level, it is very low. I feed nightcrawlers and then finish with shrimp to fill them up. I would love to be on a worm only diet, but the cost would kill me.
