Hey You Guys! So do you guys know which sturgeons can tolerate a warmer setup...say 76-82 degrees?....I know most of them are all cold water but I heard some hybrids or something can tolerate the warmer waters.....if you guys know of one please let me know about it Thanks...Also one more thing...is it possible to add a sterlet sturgeon in a temperature of 76-78 degree's?

Shovelnose sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus platorynchus) will do well at temps in the mid 70's and even up to an occasional 80 but probably do better in the mid to low 70's. good aeration is the real key to keeping moderately warm water fish. I have been looking for a source for shovelnose sturgeon but so far no luck. They are also a smaller species of sturgeon seldom getting to be more than 24 to 30 inches in the wild and staying around 18 or so in captivity. The record is about 39 inches (I think) but that is unusual. they also adapt better to confinment than other thicker and stiffer swimming sturgeon.

my LFS has sturgeon "seasonably available" ... they keep them in warm water with some other tropicals, until they get sold. i dont know any other details, i figured i would ask more when they actually get them in stock
he said they are "CALIFORNIA STURGEON" ... any info ??

There are two or three species of sturgeon native to California. My dad used to run a sturgeon fishing boat out of San Francisco bay. Very big sturgeon, very good eating, and very cold water. No other details.

could be the white sturgeon from Idaho.

Could very well be, Green and White sturgeon I do remember. I'm not sure if there was a third species but I would expect Idaho to have the same species of sturgeon as California.
