or the SPOONBILL or PADDLE FISH. commonly caught in INDIANA i hear from a buddy who has moved out there. has anybody else ever caught one of these or tried to house a very small one in a tank??? let me pick your brains, seems like an awesome fish for a big pond.

I came across a thread on here before that a guy had a few of them he got from a farm in his tank. Apparently they were runts and wouldnt get more than 3 feet. I lived in Indiana my whole life and for 2 years by the Ohio River where they are found and never caught one. They get huge and grow fairly fast. Unless you had a pond to put them in i think it would be hard to keep. And they eat plankton thats in the water. I dont know how you would feed these guys.

would probably do best in a specialized circular shaped setup with lots of current I imagine, due to their feeding habits as well.

It'd be really tough to feed and if I remember correctly, they are EXTREMELY sensitive to stress. I seem to recall a few people on here acquiring them, and it never went well.

there is a guy on here who keeps them successfully - do a search on the native forum,

A vendor was also selling some a year or so ago....babies of course.

you can feed them blood worms, lots of blood worms, or brine shrimps!
