Okay so I have a situation that's a little complicated...I'm buying a 210g reef setup and converting that into a fw setup for my aro, gar, and hopefully a GATF soon. At the same time (sucks I know) I'm trying to take my 47g (currently housing aforementioned aro and gar) fw and convert it to a reef tank for the live rock and fish I'm getting with the 210. I'm thinking transport the marine stuff, drain and clean the 47g fw as fast as possible, set that up with the marine and then throw the fw in the 210.
A few questions--is the 96w 6700k cf bulb enough for a 47g bowfront reef? Can I convert my eheim canister to a marine filter or is 100+ lbs of live rock and a skimmer sufficient? How long will marine fish and live rock live in a big cooler? ha ha! This is my first saltwater experience and since I was planning on getting into it down the road, I couldn't bring myself to just go to the lfs and dump everything (especially since they don't buy live rock). Any advice, tips, answers would be greatly appreciated!
