Hey people, long time no post.

I introduced two baby bichirs (both between 2 and 3 inches long) to my new tank with my old bichir (now about 2 years old). One of the newbies is totaly ignored by the big but he wont loose sight of the other little one. He does the head nudging thing to it almost all the time and lays next to it "twitching"... The small one does not seem to mind at all, it evens iniciates it at times... I know my large bichir is a male, but im unsure about the smaller ones at 2-3 inhes long... Could the big bichir know the little one is a female? Thus the obsession hes having?

Ok going on three hours of him not leaving the little one alone... should call a doctor for R.Kelly over here if it continues over four hours? (that was a joke)

Hes not hurting it or anything but i dont want a dead Bichir due to stress....

Name that small one Lolita. I wouldn't worry about it unless that small one seems stressed-as in trying to get away. If there's no aggression or fear, I'd just let them keep on keepin on.

You've deprived him for 2 years.. if the little one turns out to be a male, call the large one CP - short for Catholic Priest

What species is the larger male?

The little (potential female) just lies there now... hasnt done much swimming... if any... i turned off the light to see if she relaxed and swam, but no....

Ok I had a delhezi that "frisky" drove my female polli crazy with the nudging and huh huh wanna wanna wink wink nudge nudge. If he's really obsessed you might have to move the new one out till it gains some size-Anne
