IITUFFTOBEATII and I went out netting this weekend and came back with a big surprise. 253 bullfrog tadpoles and frogs. I think our aros, dats, and poly will be eating good for quite some time.
they were all in one spot. we caught them all in just a few feet of shoreline. we couldve prob caught them all day, but we only took one 5 gallon bucket. we were pulling them out 15-20 at a time.
there is no limit on bull frogs here. they are an introduced species here and out compete natives. a small population can explode very quickly. at this time last year at the same spot we caught 3 or 4 at the most and even that was rare.
I keep a bunch of prazi pro on hand. i quarantine most of them and treat them for parasites. but i threw some in for food as soon as they got home, but i have started treating all my fish with prazi pro every once in a while.
I know TFW froze some of them. if they get eaten after defrosting we will prob go back this weekend with a cooler to stock up for the winter. 250 may seem like a lot, but they wont last very long and im not sharing the fish i catch over winter with my polys.
