Saw this mound and thought it was probably a wasp or hornet. Happily it was this little guy. Some kind of wood frog or what? Any ID's?

Doubt it, they're from Asia. I still think it looks like a young crayfish frog.
 
It is a wild frog that is in my backyard in Missouri if that helps. Never heard of a crayfish frog but it mounds like a crayfish.
 
i know there from asia im just suggesting a keeper might have released some (possibaly to many to care for if they breed).
notice this firebelly is brown that shows that it is a russian orental fire belly toad (bominbarda orientas ,bad spelling),the toad in the picture is also this colour
if you look at the frog/ toad in first picture youl see that its face is like
a fire bellys.

Could be the northern chorus frog it is small and is similar to to the described behaior. I have not trid to catch it I an just watching it.
