lol I have never kept a frog in a day of my life, just fish. I received this frog-sphere, from someone today and it comes with 2 frogs, and everything, says a year supply of food, feed 2 pellets for each frog, 2 times a week, don't change out any water or clean it until every 2-3 months and so on. I know it's all a bunch of garbage. Can I just buy a 10-20 gal tank for them and put regular gravel in it or what? This thing it came in, is way to small! I wish I didn't receive this as I know it's a stupid gimmick but I have it lol and also do I really only give them 2 pellets each, only 2 times a week? I was thinking I should do weekly water changes/maint on it like I do my fish tanks, so looking for any advice, thanks.

Edit: it also says when you do maint, to only change out 3/4 of water , with natural spring water, nothing else can be used?

what type of frogs are they.

i assume the water is spring, because of the chlorine in tap. i say just dechlorinate your water.

edit: btw i havent kept frogs only newts

I don't have chlorine in my water. I have well water, never had to dechorinate my water for my fish. And the kind of frogs...uh no idea it doesn't say. They are just really small, it just says 2 aquatic mini frogs.

they are african clawed frogs from brookstone, they will eventually need a bigger habitat too since the container that they give you is about the size of a full grown ACF. becareful with using well water especially if it goes through a water softener. I would just use drinking water, its safer that way.

are acf legal here, maybe there just illegal in virginia.

there gonna get big and eat anything then.

20 gallon atleast i think

Is it ok to have sand as substrate? and how the heck do I keep a 20 gal full of natural spring water and change 25% out each week, with natural spring water? This will be a freaking headache, and expensive to buy. I assume I need to do weekly water changes and such, and possibly feed more than twice a week with 2 pellets per frog? the booklet says the frogs will never outgrow this habitat and live 2-4 years, checked a site on google and it said they can live a long long long long time lol. I guess if you keep them in this habitat and feed 2 times week, they will only live 2-4 years...anyways I have a 29 gal, i'm gonna try my well water.... at 76-80 degrees..need any tips please, never had frogs, thanks
