I'm not sure what happened, they were fine when i went to bed and when i woke up they were both dead. temp was upper 70s and they had water and humidity was 60% so im thinking it must have been bad crickets. i decided since i have had bad luck with green tree frogs that i'd try something new. the tank is a 20 long and i want a lizard or snake. ive been offered a kenyan snad boa and a ball python but im not sure what i want just yet so hit me up with some suggestions.

any other suggestions

Garter snake would be nice active and you see them . They dont hide non stop like other woodland type small snakes (ringneck, dekays). Plus lots morphs. The males stay small.

Curlytail lizards ,fattail or leopard geckos, Occelated skinks.

Even brown anoles which are found on lawns arent a bad idea as a 20 long is 30 inches. You could put in few potted plants, climbing branches and basking area. M/F pair would do great probably breed.

I think garters are fantastic underrated.

I plan to pick up an albino checkered garter male at reptile expo coming up but I like all the morphs.

mines just normal but im thinking about getting her a friend my lfs got some in and they have one thats like this turquoise color but they'd go together. ive been wanting to get her a bf fjor a while maybe make some babies

I have a soft spot for leopard geckos and collared lizards. I'd go with one of them. I've had anoles since I was a little kid, but Bahamans and greens seem kinda boring to me. The ones I had never did much but bask and bolted when you approached the cage. Now a Cuban Knight, that'd be more interesting XD. Dunno if you could fit that in a 20 gal, though. Or if you're willing to keep something that vicious. XD

Normally, I'd say go for that ball python. But the optimal tank for one of them is 30+ gal, so you'd have to start with a juv and upgrade the tank eventually. If you're willing to do that, definitely go with the python.

To small for a knigh anole but good for a copple of Mabuya sp skinks;)
