from a very clear water my tank went cloudy on me. it has been running with goldfish for about 2 yrs already. no cloudyness was seen until recently. i thought it was because of feeding. but i reduced the feeding and the water is still cloudy. i did not even touch the filter. what seems to have happened to the water quality?:screwy: any suggestion/solutions?:)

check for missing fish... check ph... and if there is a filter on it make sure the cartrage is seated all the way down, if it dosent get better do a water change then use the acural f or something like that, in a clearish bottle, the fluid is a vile brown color. will clear up the water within a half an hour

no missing fish... no dead ones. pH is at 7.5 just normal. let me look for that stuff you're telling me.;)

hmm yah aint over crowed, but i dont like the ph lvl, i would try to drop it down to 6.8 if all u got in there are goldfish. if you go get that stuff and it clears up but after 12h or so it gose back to the way it was then it is deffenetly the ph and tripple check your filter cartrage(s) is seated proporly, had the same prob, just put in new filters and the water was cloudy and went back to my lfs and he told me to triple check the filters and he was right they wernt all the way down. another thing he told me was that the mecanical matter of the filter, hard to explain on the comp but, it starts out letting alot of stuff through, then after a few days it starts to close up and not let the little particals through.
