From Fresh to Saltwater

I've been thinking about changing my 300 gallon tank to Saltwater, I was just curious how hard and how expensive it would be....Been doing Freshwater for 30yrs so i would be new to the change over....any advice and info would be greatly appreciated...

Expense will be in the set up. Running it won't be too bad.
Strip the tank down to nothing. Sand, rock, saltwater and turn on the filter. Let it run for awhile (weeks, let water chemistry tell you when it's ready) and establish itself. Start slowly adding your livestock after that.

End cost will be determined by the cost of the rock (how much you get) and the type of filter (many can just use the same filter as the FW set up - depending on what you had). I'm a minimalist. A good canister and pt skimmer do it for me.
