Can a crawfish and a few small bream and crappie be moved from a 77* tank to an outdoor pon. pond is 30-40*(not sure, havent checked temp in a while). I was just wondering if/how it can be done since it more than just a temp change. their metabolism would have to drop along with activity and eating habits. Do i just acclimate in a bag longer?

No, If you have to do it, it's going to take a week at least.

I hope the pond is deep enough for them not to freeze.

Start dropping the temp of the tank by doing small W/C's (5g) with the pond water (add it slowly).

Start cutting back on feeding by watching how much they eat in 5-6 min and remove all extra food.

This will give the fish time to adjust their internal clocks somewhat to thinking it's winter.

i figured it would be difficult. i'll just keep them in the tank til spring

Agreed.... It takes weeks, if not months for the fish to condition themselves for a long winter. Waiting is the way to go.
