I have a 150g with nothing but a bowfin, a bunch of bichir and some clown loaches. I think frontosa are pretty cool and have a couple questions.

How do people usually have frontosa tanks? As in, do you get 5 frontosa? Or is 1 fine? Do you get 1 male per 3 female etc?

Is there a real difference in appearance in WC vs CB?

They live in colony's 1 male and 3 or 4 females if you get quality F1 Fronts you will be happy with their looks

I am also curious about fronts, any more input?

The frontosa sticky does have a lot of info. so I would check that out. As for fronts yes colonys are best if you can keep 5-6 or more thats great. I have 12 in my 150gal with a hap and a syno cat. Wilds are nice and a lot more money, if you want fish that will have just as nice of color but are a bit on the cheaper side you can go wtih f1's. The WC you will prob. want to keep their water parameters closer to what they have in the wild. They are best kept with non agressive fish. Its better to stick with w/one male and all females. I have a mix in my tank quite a few males and qutie a few females, though its not recommended to have a lot of males.

with the footprint in a 150, 8 adults is probably a good number. 1 or 2 males and the rest females. great fish. you will love them. lots of cool variants too.

That tank is a good size but I would recommend not getting too many. Especially with your other fish already. 6 would be a good fit. 2 males 4 females. But as always if you buy them small they will be whatever they are. Very hard to sex when small. I have 10 very good size and had them all in a smaller tank like that for a while its a little tight.
