im going to put my front and my tropheus in a now empty 180 i need som stocking suggestions please. the frontosa is 13" and the tropheus is 4-5".finding large tangs where i am is hard so any suggestions where to get larger specimens would be appreciated. im not trying to go all tanganyikan or all cichlid either

I do not mix trophs and fronts. I would recommend against it. I keep fronts with comps and calvus and might add some gobies this time. I love tangs, but have found that trophs are better in species only tanks or mixed with simochromis, or petro or gobies

Your trophs should'nt be in with your fronts because of their diet if they consume to much protien it could kill them and fronts are carnivores for the most part. Another reason not to mix is the trophs may nip the fins off your fronts won't hutr them they just won't look as nice.

I wouldn't mix the two.
You have an empty 180 fill it with a nice colony of fronts, sit back and enjoy!

Keep em separate, but put the fronts in the 180 and get some synodontis catfish to fill out the bottom, and maybe some gobies for a little more variety in the tank.

i know n i feed them there respective diets, it wierd the troph never eats the fronts food. theyve been together for 3 years at least now with no probs. there like pals at this point

would a 13" front b able to eat a 3" front? cause thats the biggest tangs i can get around here the lfs has 7or8 of them now that i could buy. what r your thoughts on mixing tangs with malawi cichlids

The problem with getting little Fronts is that they grow incredibly slow. But the best thing with Fronts is getting at least 3, 1 male and 2 females.

If you were closer to Watertown, NY I would give a 13" and 7" Moba. I think it is 13" haven't pulled him out to measure though. I also have some Burundi. I have been looking to rehome them for a while since I will be moving in the summer.
