Im considering putting in a frontosa in with haps/mbuna.(mbuna being yellow labs/acei) The haps are fairly small adveraging 3-3.5 inches. I The labs are full grown. The acei about 4 inch.
Haps-1 d.compressip, 2 miloma,5 kandago, 1 deep water hap, 10 blue dolpin.
Goal in the end will mostly be all male.
I have red the frontosa is a slow grower. They have frontosa at a local pet shop. The didnt no the kind there were, apparently you cant tell until they get bigger :screwy:. In which i was thinking that the variety wasnt a big issue anyway as there will be no breeding of them with a single one.
But the size is an issue, they are no bigger that 2 inch, maybe a tad less.
Will they be able to keep up with the others growth rate for a while anyway? SOme haps will grow quick, im just wondering if the frontosa will grow big enough, by the time the other reach there bigger size, that i wont have to worry

not a good idea to get the frontosa.. it does not do very well alone.. they should be with their own kind in a colony.. they are too slow to be mixed with the mbuna... they eat from the bottom.. sinking pellets.. the mbuna and labs eat everything and fast.. the frontosa grows slowly but will reach a maturity at around 16 inches... frontosa like to hide.. they would stress from all the activity and may even be picked on..
