I have a 150 front tank with 2 36" 50/50 and it seems too much light for the fronts. i tried the 50/50 off my 29 for a few days and they seems to like it better. all the tang, loaches and catfish come out. how do you light your 6 foot frontosa tank?

My 6 foot front tank has a 6 ft t8 lamp. I started leaving it off and using ambient light from the window behind it. They do seem to enjoy tanks with less light.

ive got 2 lights in my 7ft tank ive got a 48'' powerglo 40w bulb and a 24'' normal white bulb i usuall just leave the small bulb on so that a small beam of light just lights up the middle of the tank the fish seem a lot more chilled out like that

when i need to take pics then i put the big light on it stresses the fish out but its the only decent way to get some tidy pics!!!!!!

richie:)

i slapped a 48 " powerglo on the 150 and they like it much more than the 72"

I hardly use my tank light for my Frontosa tank unless i'm planning on taking pictures of them or showing them off to visitors:)..room light is enough..remember in the wild they live deep within the lake..so they hardly do get any light that deep within the lake..
