my parents picked up a frontosa for their 125 its about 5 inches long they have had it for about 5 days now and it still wont eat.
Any suggestions??

first off, frontosas are not south or central american. They are african rift lake cichlids.

try checking your pH first. If your pH is alot lower than the stores or what the fish is used to, you're stressing it. Next, make sure the other fish are not bullying it. Frontosas are slow, peaceful fish, if you mixed it with sa or ca it may be scared or stressed from the other fish.
They are also deep water fish to bright lighs may stress it. I had to use a 3' light on my 150 to dim the lights.
Provide a few good caves for it.

if you post this in the african rift lake section you will more than likely get more help and faster or ask a mod to move it.
if frontosa are like other large intelligent cichlids then it may just be a bit stroppy due to being moved.

k sorry bout the wrong place go ahead and remove it and ill repost

Any tankmates? How big is the Front? What size tank?

My fronts can get a little picky with food sometimes, try some blackworms or frozen blood worms, if he won't eat them I don't know what to tell you. He may also be settling in and not quite comfy yet. I'd give him a few more days, try some different foods.

They prefer a water temp around 77F too.

What are the water params? specifically the temp and PH
