I inherited 6 Burundi Fronts about 3 weeks ago, and all are about 8-9" except for one small one that is about 4-5". I guess they are all the same age, but I have not seen the little guy eat. He will just nudge up to whatever I am putting in there, and simply won't take it. I have tried cut up nightcrawlers, market shrimp, cichlid pellets, all with no success. They were in a 125 by themselves, water parameters all good, but I've now moved the smaller one to another tank where he's completely isolated to see if he'll take anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Ask the person you got them from, what they fed them.

Fish usually are picky of new food (especially fronts).

I've had good success with Ocean Nutrition Formula I, pellet food. My fish ate it readily first try.

Hmm +1.

Never had as hard a time with any other fish than my frontosa. Got him at about 4-5" (he is probably a little larger now), and he refused to eat for like two weeks.

I did the same thing you do...just went through feeding anything and everything. I ended up mixing pellets with krill with chopped up peas and silversides. Let it soak in selecon (fish vitamin for SW :naughty:...garlic might have the same effect) and then dropped it in there. He went and picked at it a little, and then took some of the krill.

These guys like small particles of food...when I was getting him started, I kept everything very small to encourage him to experiment a little bit.

As you can see it worked out. He is still with us and beautiful. Hope you enjoy your fish, they are great.

New life spectrum sinking pellets all my fish including fronts love them. San Franscisco bay frozen Marine Cuisine is awesome. I guarantee you he will devour that. Its a mixture of clams, krill, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp and other things. I feed this when I am trying to get some growth on these guys.
