Ok well I am sure everyone knows I have a 150gal my current stock is:

Silver AT Datnoid
Spotted Climbing Perch
Goby Eel
Common Pleco
6 Apollo Sharks

Now I am thinking about getting a Cichlid to teach the Dat and Ctenopoma to eat pellets, I have had 2 Oscars in the past but I have never had a front and dont know much about them.

So I was wondering if I would be able to safely put either of them in the tank and if so which one would be best?

Frontosa grow very very slowly and like to live in groups. They also tend to be somewhat shy. I'm not sure what apollo sharks are but I'm assuimg some medium sized schooling cyprinid, which might be too wild for the frontosa. I would go with the oscar or something else.

I would say neither. I would go with a fish that stays a bit smaller and does better by itself, like a nic or something.

hey rally what is a nic? I am not familiar with that name.

Nicaraguense. It's a bit more peaceful than an oscar, but stays smaller. It's also a bit better than a front as a solitary specimen IME.

Just a suggestion....others might be better

why not goldfish?...they eat everything hehehe

because a Goldfish would get the crap kicked out of it...

edit: oh yeah thanks for the info rally

well the dat tends to have mood swings and the Leopard Ctenopoma can be aggressive at times to, so I want something that is kinda passive aggressive, so something that is mellow but wont back down when the time comes...
