one of my frontosa was hidding under the rocks like a month , she alwas there mostly times, and week ago i saw one of her eye has pooped out, why this happend to her?
thx

how is she doing...i hope she is getting better,. Her eye was either injured, or it is a fungus, or mbuna picked on it...since mbuna are so fast and frontosa so slow...they are not very good tank mates...theres a few that are okay such as yellow labs{electric yellow} they are very sweet non aggressive africans and ususally trouble free with frontosa..

Sounds like Pop Eye to me. That is usually caused by a couple of different causes. It could have injured it's eye on the rock or some of the mbunas might have gotten to him. It could also be from various bacteria. I would remove to a hospital tank and treat with meds.

I agree, treat for pop eye, do a big water change and gravel vacume too. Get the mbuna out of her tank or give her a new tank with out mbuna. Mbuna do not make suitable tankmates. I have only seen a couple species that are possiable , but even those were not the best choice. I moved all my mbuna to their own tank, they liked it and the fronts liked it best that way. Good luck.
