I have three Frontosa's that I need to get a price for. Seeing I am not much into the Frontosa's I was wondering if anyone could give me the proper type they are and how much on average I could get or ask for them. I believe I may have two males and one female by looking at them. Here are some pictures.

Burundi. They are nice fish. It depends on the area. In NNY, for the larger one you could get 80-100. The middle size one 50-80. The smallest looks like it is mooning, so you could expect 40-70 for it.

They are the most common of the Fronts, and without information if they are Wild caught, F1, or standard Tank Raised - You will not get many serious buyers. Burundi have been around so long that all of the ones for sale are probably tank raised.

Thanks... I really do not have any more info. All I know is the guy who has them, him and his wife are getting a divorce and has no time for his fish presently. He has a lot of odd ball things like, Hypsophrys nicaraguense or what they call a green flash cichlid, quite a few hard to find pleco's, a expensive pair of killifish and these Frontosa's. I know he spent a lot of money for his harder to find species so I don't think they would be cheapo's. I know someone offered me $40 for them all plus a bunch of his hard to find cichlids. But I do not want any more cichlids. I have my hands full with my 80+ tanks of angelfish.

Can you do consignment at the LFS? Maybe see about trading them in at the LFS for some extra supplies.

There isn't a big demand for Burundi, but when they get bigger with a big hump they will sell quicker. The Burundi get the biggest hump out of the whole family of fronts.

Pet stores around here are so crappy. I am sure eventually I will find homes for these guys. I have plenty of space, don't get me wrong. I am just making sure I have a fair price in mind. Thanks for all the help.

One more thing, you can pretty much only tell the sex of the fish by venting or by seeing them breed and hold.

Both males and females get the hump. Some people say that males get a larger hump, but this is not always true. You can get an odd combination if the female becomes dominant. She will have the largest hump and be in control but it is still a female.

I'll move this to the African section, you should get a better response there.
