I have the opportunity to purchase 15 F1 2" Mpimbwe. I have just acquired another 125 gallon tank to house them in. After reading a bunch, I still have questions.

1. I have white/ light tan pea gravel mixed that I would like to use, but I have read about only sand. Can I use the gravel or is there a reason for sand only?

2. I have read conflicting things about any tank mates. I have 5-7 yo yo loaches that I may not be able to sell. Can they go in a frontosa tank? I also have a 6" hypotomus plecostomus. Can it go in?

3. What is the best background for fronts to bring out their color?

4. Is my 125 big enough? If not, how soon will I have to start thinning out? And how do you choose who to thin?

5. Fronts are rocks only or can I put in plants such as Anubias attached to rock?

That is it for now, but I am sure I will think of more as I begin to prepare for my Fronts. Any help and incite on these fish is greatly appreciated.

Ill try to answer as best that i can to what i can

1,sand is best as they like to move it around and dig in it for food.

2,as far as loches go , dont keep any small enough for a meal as they will get eaten, i have clown loaches with mine and had a common pleco as well, frontosa are not aggressive fish so if the pleco is tough he may be a bully.

3,dark background is best for better colors in my experience.

4,125 sounds ok but will need more room as they can get big , id thin out the males as soon as u can sex them as there territorial.

5, u can try plants but id go plastic as my fronts ate all my live plants .
