Hi guys, I have a 150g tank, and I was thinking of putting Frontosa in there.

I am just wondering what would be good tank mates - I'm trying to find something with colour, that has a bit interest to it.

I really like Brichardi, but from what I've read this wont be a good idea.

I've also read that Knife fish seem to get on well with fronts?

Any suggestions welcome

Thanks, Anthony

I know Fronts and Brichardis are not a problem...a friend of mine had that....worked fine. I also have a 150...its a mixed hap and peacock tank. I got a free 5" Frontosa....no way i could pass it up....I stuck him in there....and all is well. He doesnt get picked on nor does he chase anyone...feeding can be an issue...as Fronts are slower eaters and prefer to eat from the bottom of the tank vs the surface...so I usually make sure I add a little extra sinking pellets for him...so far so good!

Many things are fine if you have no plan to breed, or your fish have no plan to breed.

A breeding pair of brichardi will scare a frontosa and most other fish to death.
They can be very aggressive.

If you just have a single brichardi, it will not be a problem.
Though if the brichardi is stupid and sleeps in the open, AND your frontosa is hungry or curious, you may wake up and fine half the brichardi, or any other like size fish split in half.

Comps are fine if large enough, as the same thing as above can happen.
Comps will also disrupt breeding of frontosa, as will just about any hungry fish.

so tankmates depends on what your ultimate goal is.
do you want to breed?
do you have to have fish from the same lake?
