have a chance to buy a 125 gal tk with 6 fronts(2m,4f 4 to 6 in).) 2 black calvus(1m,1f) 2 yellow calvus(unknown)and a 5 inch clown loach. fronts look to be stressed more black than blue. tank is relatively dirty. two hob filters that need to be tossed and 4 sponge filters. all for $450. good deal, bad deal, steer clear? have till sat to make up mind. please advise.

I would jump on that opportunity right away!!!!! My 125 gal empty with just an iron black stand costs $350 alone neverminde that your getting fronts and calvus some of my favorite fish for $450. Fronts are pretty expensive and hardy fish so when you get them im sure they will brighten up and form good color under good care. plus some filters on top of that not too shabby

Definitely a STEAL!

but your right, you will need to toss a filter your better off with a canister because cichlids as most people know produce a lot of bio load. Those fronts are gonna be huge

I have a colony of 17 Fronts most in the 10-12" Range, and I use AC110s and my water quality is always perfect... I don't use canister filters for any of my cichlid tanks. Nothing but AC's at my house- minus my Eheim Pro 2 which I bought with my fronts. haha.
