I am currently getting a 240 gal tank, and not sure what to do with my fish. I have 9 fronts, 1 blk aro, 1 terashugi cat. do you guys think I can put the fronts in with the aro?? I believe the aro will get beat up and murdered. They are currently housed in 3 55 gal tanks. 6 smaller fronts in one, 3 larger fronts in the other and the cat and aro separate.

I highly doubt the fronts will beat up the Arowana, they are very peacefull fish. I am sure they will be fine, just keep an eye on everyone else in the tank. Make sure that your fronts have alot of hiding places. I am sure they'll be fine I ve kept 3 Fronts with a datnoid, two clown knifes and 2 Arowanas and the Fronts have been the least agressive and hide alot. Although I dont think your going to enjoy your fronts that much, they do best with themeselves in colonys, thats when they are really alive and out and look beautiful and dont have stress. I would keep them alone but then again some mfk people have done fine w/keeping them with other fish. Well thats just my input, good luck with it, cant wait to see pics when its done!

I'm a firm believer in keeping african cichlids with african cichlids. Fronts do great when kept in large tanks like your 240 and they should look pretty awesome in it! And you'll have much better luck getting them to breed in a species only tank or if you mix them with other compatible africans.

ash your right about them hiding, I only have 3 in one thank but as soon as the lights go on they come out and swin like crazy. And ogre, I also don't like to mix up my fish, I was hopeing some one will talk me into doing it, but I don't think I can. I would hate to lose my blk aro though..

check out www.cyphos.com it's a frontosa site and everyone there has tanks with a decent amount and their fronts seem to be out and a bit more active. They're way too cool of a fish to have hide all the stinkin time. Lets see some pics of your black aro.
