Being that i have red that frontosa are very slow growers, would it be ok to grow them up abit in a hap/mbuna tank until i got a suitable tank to put them in. I just dont want to rush out and get a 120 + gallon fora colony of 2 inch frontosa and have it look empty un til they grow lol
stock in the mbuna/hap-
grow out tankmates would be yellow lab, milomo, deep water hap, borelyi, moori blue dolphin, d.compressip, acei, clown loach and a variety of catfish. oh, and a single bucktooth tetra....lol There are multiples of each species, with expection of the d. com and bucktooth. And all fish expect yellows, are juvies 3 inch and less. Would the fronts grow at an adverage rate in this enivorment? its a 120 gallon 6 foot length with an fx5.

Should be fine in the 6' tank as long as the size difference is not too great. None of your cichlids are on the overly aggressive side.

I had a front in my 180 for a while with some meaner characters than you have and everyone seemed to ignore him.

I have the same fish in a 210 right now and the frontosas are 3" vs. the 4"-5"+Africans. All is well, but I would watch the d. Com. Mine all got mean for some reason(all males).
You mentioned slow growth...I seem to be experiencing the same thing with my frontosas as well, but I have never heard they grew slower than normal fish. I heard Labs grow REELLYY slow. IDK.
