Hi mfk! Well as said in the title frontosa with rays (motoro) I'm half way through building a 8x4x2.5 and well Im really liking the frontosa but as I plan on adding rays soon I don't want to lose one due to unsuitable fish for them they will be with some pbass Oscar and tinfoil barbs and a silver arowana but well do frontosa do well with rays has thus been done is it a hit or miss situation? Or will work fine? Cheerz

Hit or miss mate. I have kept one before but I would not try a group of them. They are too territorial when in breeding mode.

Ok Thanks not worth it then cheers

Yeah, don't think having 1 frontosa will have any issues with aggression.

I wouldn't there both from different water parameters. Rays like soft acidy water where fronts are hard high ph water

very true statement..they will coexist but the frontosa will suffer as the ray cannot have the high ph water that the frontosa require.

Not if the ray is captive bred. My BDs are in MI 7.8 pH water water and are doing perfectly fine. I think this statement would be more accurate for wild caught rays?

Yes I would not be worrying about the difference in water needs. Rays and fronts can survive in same water types, especially if captive bred.

Ok I'm going to risk it and pick one up possible move it into my Archer fish tank if problems arise
