What would you say the smalest fish in Inches could be relatively ok with Frontosa?
I know there is no Certantiy for anything just trying to work out tank mates.
Just wonder how a Gnathochromis permaxillaris is a fine tank mate at 7" but a Cyprichromis sp. "Leptosoma Jumbo" at 6" is not. is this manily due to the shape of the fish?

Cyps are a natural food source for frontosa. The shape can also make a difference if its shaped like a food source then it may be more apt to eat it. If it can easily fit in the fronts mouth due to the shape of the fish that is the tank mate, it may eat it. Generally if the fish can fit in its mouth - its probably food. Yes a 7inch fish would work. A lot of people keep calvus/comps which hit a general size of 6 inches - they also have a wider shaped body. If its small and slender then I would probably avoid it. You want something that can't easily fit in the fronts mouth. I ve kept 6 inch fish with my 10inch fronts and had no issues and I ve also kep tother fish in the same range and had issues with the fronts beating them up so it really just depends. You also want to ensure you have a lot of hiding spots. The easier it is for the fish to get away and hide the better off the fish is.
