The lady at the pet store said that bloodworms were healthier than live earthworms, the bloodworms were cheaper than the earthworms so she is not trying to rip me off, what are your opinions? P.S i have a 12 cm red tiger oscar

I am guessing live food is better. They are both good. If I were you I would get live Bloodworm and frozen ones.

why can't you feed them both? actually all 6 since bloodworm is used multiple ways, I'd avoid the horse parasite... and the parasitic nematode... make it 4. the best option for all the species I'm aware of is multiple sources of nutrition.

these are some pdf files. the earthworm one is quite involved, the other for midge larvae is more geared towards raising them, but has some thoughts on their effect on fish nutrition.

Variety is best so just feed both.

My cichlids eat so many worms and freezedried foods on top of a pellet diet the are crazy colored long story short. Variety is best and i never feed live worms no reason I just dont

I think its better if you use a frozen blood worms.
Because if you give a live worms, they can bring a bad bacteria to your fish.
But the frozen bloodworms have no bacteria, because its frozen,no bacteria can live in the cold / minus degree.
