I have been feeding my corals and fish frozen mysis shrimp. I learned that I have to defrost the shrimp first and drain the water from them. Then, put new water in them because the water they are frozen in is full of phosphates and other things you dont want to introduce and accumulate in your system. My question is, can I defrost and wash them in tap water that has not been dechlorinated? What I mean is to defrost the shrimp in tap water, run them under to clean them, drain the tap water out, refill with saltwater, and feed to the fish and corals. I am not sure if that tiny amount of chlorine on them will affect the systems bacteria and fish. What do you think?

Not worth it in my opinion. Just pull a little bit of water from you tank to thaw the shrimp with a cup.
