Frozen food vs. Freeze dried

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would think freeze dried would have more nutritional value by weight since all the water is remove sorta like a couple of pieces of beef jerky has as much protein as a whopper

i dunno..iv herd that frozen are better then freeze dried.

every time i have tried freeze dried my fish have refused them.

That's funny I always thought the same thing until today, I gave the freeze dried another shot and after the food began to sink my fish went nuts for it. They even started coming to the surface looking for more

Mine love both!
I dont want to feed live worms because of parasites, I just hope they are getting enough nutrients

Mine eat both but go after frozen much more. You should soak freeze dried bloodworms before adding though (admittingly I dont) because the fish can overeat and then when they soak up water in the stomach will expand.

Why did I never think of that....I'm going to try soaking some bloodworm and krill until it sinks and THEN put it in my tank this afternoon.

Or maybe tomorrow...I have company coming and I want to clean my sand before they arrive....is that absurd?

What if I took a clove of galric and mashed it up, added some water and then soaked some freeze dried blood worms in the garlic water?
...To discourage parasites?

You can get bottles of garlic juice from the grocery store, too. I usually thaw the food in warm water with the garlic juice added to it.

i find it easier and less messy to feed frozen.. as far as the nutritional difference ..they should not be much different..
