My Cichla already take frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. Should I try anything else?

I hear about people using silversides, but I went to Petsmart yesterday and they looked a little too big for my fish. Do you cut them up into smaller pieces? And do you think my Florida gar would take silversides?

My little RTC is no problem for feeding, as I'm sure he'd take a big mac and fries.

I'm in the process of training my gars for frozen... it's been 3 days now with them not eating.

Thanks MFK!

You should try to wean your fish off frozen foods and get them on pellets..

Anyway.. you could try krill, market shrimp, blackworms, mealworms, market fish(tilapia, catfish), earthworms(that were raised from farms) to name a few..

Yeah I know I've been trying, but the switch from feeder guppies to pellets has never worked for me. I'm going to start mixing the pellets with frozen.

Sometimes feeding fish something that they have not had may take a little time for them to accept.

You're letting your fish beat you lol. Your fish have you on a leash, but good luck to you.

I feed silversides to my smaller guys and will break them in half so they eat it faster, like that I don't have a decapitation while they all go for one silverside.
