A friend of mine told me that Frozen fish food, I.E. krill, Plankton, bloodworms, can screw up your Bio filter.

I know all of the frozen food from Hikari is sterilized an fortified with vitamins. But Im not sure about the other brands.
Could this be true?

as long as all the food gets eaten i wouldnt worry about it....

Any food can overload your system if you overfeed and that is easy to do with frozen food.

So what is this guy smokin? I would like some please...lol....

They only way that would happen is if you over feed....over feeding anything can screw up a tank bio load.

Jen ;)

Yes by all means do not overfeed no matter how tempted you get or how much they beg. It's better to have fish that grow a little slower because of not overfeeding than to develop the BLOAT and have them all die. Beleive me you do not want the BLOAT.

A problem I have noticed with frozen brineshrinp and krill is that when they thaw a lot of the flesh has cellular ruptures so it leaks shrimp "juice" adding organics that ar liquid and can't be eaten.

I have a lot of frozen foods. Every time I feed them bloodworms the dumb cube falls apart and sometimes there a pain to get out of the package.
Next time I’m going to buy the flat sheets.
