Hello, can i feed my cichlids frozen foods when they are frozen or should i let them thaw out? srry for the stupid question.

I always thaw my food. Can you say "Ice Cream Headache"? LOL

i throw myne in frozen because i like to see them go at it..and rip it apart

Better Distribution for the smaller guys, unless you have 6 dovii killin for it!

Thawing always spreads it out better!

JMHO-

I usually leave mine frozen.. Or at least Partially.. My Peas and O seem to swallow more of it that way :) Especially now that I have implimented Mysis.. But I leave the brine frozen.. I do thaw out the market shrimp but that cause of the Ewurm statement BrainFreeze!! :)

You do not thaw the Mysis?? Much bigger than brine, Spreads out nicely. But will leave the shrimp oil on top, Thank god for my Surface Skimmers!! Just wonderin'

Thanks

For smaller fish I thaw.

My Jag won't bother with individual brine or bloodworms. I break off chunks and throw them in frozen. He eats the frozen chunks whole. Whether or not he gets brainfreeze I don't know but he sure eats these treats with enthusiasm.

You gave me a differant perspective. I will thaw & leave frozen. When I orignally started to thaw it was in response to my Oscar eating everything he could and the smaller guys had no chance......

Good Ideas/Explantions!
