put it in a small amount of aquariam water ...as in a cup let in dissolve..usually very FAST... then either use eye dropper and squirt in in ...or just pour lightly into tank....THIS way fish get fed together and it is evenly distributed and also should not eat frozen food..

sorry if i have interupted, i am just wondering how long i should quarantine a green wolf eel before he goes in the other tank, asking because shop told me 48hours and someone else told me 21 days. thanks.

i would do at least two weeks... :D It is absolutely horrible to introduce disease such as ICK into a great established healthy tank... better to be safe then sorry..

No offense but you're hacking someone else's thread. This thread is titled 'frozen or defrost'. If it doesn't pertain to the topic you should start your own thread. To start a thread, simply go to the appropriate forum and click the:

button. Then fill in the thread title and next ask all the questions you need answers to. :) Liz is such a good person.

Pacu_keeper I think you should follow Liz's advice and thaw it first. I have a plastic fish cup that's used exclusively for the thawing of frozen fish foods. When feeding tropical fish, I think it's best they eat food that's about the same temp as their water. You don't want to fill them up with frozen food at the risk of lowering their body temp too quickly.

Some I thaw out and feed like Liz some I patially thaw and let the fish pick it apart.

definitely thaw it out first, then use a syringe or turkey baster to distribute among the fishes

I feed beefheart and bloodworms frozen. I just throw the cube in, and let my Oscar be the food processor. I watch them eat, and every fish gets his fair share that way.

whenever I thaw first, the food gets EVERYWHERE, especially into my filter intake.
