Ive had this FRT for about a week, and if hasnt seemed interested in food really outside of eating some romaine here and there(ive tried grapes and algae wafers but no interest in them). Im just wondering if there is any food that will be too much to resist and kind of jump start his eating. thanks.

What temp you keeping him at?

Fly River Turtles aka Pig Nose Turtles, should be kept around 85F, they should be supplied a basking UV lamp and high quality water filtration with frequent wc with naturally de-chlorinated water.

In nature there diet centers around the fruit and leaves of the wild figs. Captive pignose have been known to thrive on a diet of figs, apples, kiwi and bananas, as well as occasional pieces of fish, shrimp and live tubifex worms. Many successful keepers of Pignose have found that starting hatchlings on a diet of Reptomin and Hikari sinking Carivore pellets, later introducing trout chow works very well. Some others also found these turtles to be very fond of mealworms and pinky mice.

They tend not to eat when first introduced into a new environment. They prefer sinking foods at first, try peeled kiwi pieces and Hikari sinking carnivore.

i agree they wont eat much when newly introduced to a new home... give them about 2-3 weeks to get adapted to their new home.
For now.. try feeding it sinking pellets, but they usually like to eat apples, lettuce, grapes... and something they usually have trouble resisting is sinking algae wafers! GL... let us know the progress.
