Cuttle bone is that white dish like thing that you find in birdcages. Every LFS has one. I personally dont have one because my tank has other fish in it and adding that might bump the ph too high. Heard its a great calcium supplement for frts.

yep. Thats why i dont have it in my tank. But if you have a single specie tank with
an frt.. thats the way to go.

I bask mine a few times a month. whenever i get the chance. put the frt in a damp
rag or towel and have him "tan" for 45 mins .

I keep cuttle bone in the heater slot of my W/D filter for my FRT. I also have Crushed oyster shell in stocking net bags to keep the pH more stable than the cuttlebone.
